Question Of The Day

Some things should make you go "hmm..."

In all the fit-pitching over the mosque/community center being built several blocks from ground zero, much has been made about how that is "hallowed ground," and building an Islamic center, again, several blocks away somehow dishonors that hallowed ground.

It occurs to me that the plans to build a gigantic, high rent tower right on top of the graves of the atomized victims of the September 11th attacks could more readily be described as dishonoring "sacred ground."

But hey, if the religion in question is maximal capitalism and the monument to it has in its foundations the particles of the actual humans who died that day (including Muslims), it's no problem. But an Islamic center being built blocks away is blasphemy.

This is a psychotic country.

Ross Douthat is in the clutches of a fuill blown homosexual panic.

Glenn Greenwald tries to slap some sense into him.

We are not convinced Glenn's heroic efforts wil succeed, but we appreciate his reasoning.
